The History of Heston & Isleworth Rotary Club of =

The Rotary Club of Heston was formed in 1981, the founding members were:

Bruce Fenn Richard Manning

When The Rotary Club of Heston was formed in 1981 the ‘mother’ clubs were Hounslow & Isleworth. The Club received its original charter in June 1981, with Bruce Fenn becoming the founding President. By the late 1990s, Hounslow had opted to change District from 113 to 114 (that was the district numbers at that time) and Isleworth were losing members and decided to hand in their charter.

In 1999, with Keith Payne as President and with the approval of the club, an application was made to Rotary International to add Isleworth to our ‘name’. This was subsequently approved and Club received a new charter. So, Keith, having commenced his Presidential year as President of The Rotary Club of Heston ended it as President of The Rotary Club of Heston & Isleworth. More recently, and following internal discussion, consultation and deliberation, it became clear that Club’s processes and management would benefit from streamlining, therefore in 2010 it re-organized itself into its current Club format.
